An exceptional effort by Danny Grauer spurred the Roswell Invaders (20-16) to a 16-15 win over the Santa Fe Fuego (20-9) on Wednesday at Fort Marcy Park.
Grauer racked up nine RBIs on four hits for the Roswell Invaders. He homered in the first, second, and fourth innings and doubled in the seventh inning.
Louie Saenz racked up six RBIs on three hits for the Santa Fe Fuego. He singled in the third inning and homered in the first and sixth innings.
The two teams combined for 31 runs and 29 hits, including zero extra base hits. Both bullpens were busy with 11 pitchers used in the game as the skippers of both squads tried to finish it off.
Sergio Canales improved to 1-0 on the year by picking up the win for the Roswell Invaders. He allowed one run over two innings. He struck out two, walked one and surrendered no hits.
Nakamura Mitsuo (0-1) was the games losing pitcher. He lasted just 1 2/3 innings, walked two, struck out one, and allowed three runs.
